Our client owns a rental property which suffered water damage to ceilings, walls and flooring after a pipe became disconnected. As this was a low-value claim (approx. £2,500), our Claims Manager, Lisa, acted quickly contacting the Loss Adjuster to stand them down to prevent unnecessary fees, and successfully arranging for the insurer to handle the claim directly.
Lisa juggled communication with the client, insurer, managing agent and loss adjuster. There was also a door adjustment claim because the floor level had changed as a result of the water damage. Lisa secured cover for door adjustment works and temporary tenant accommodation, while the work was undertaken at the property and ensured the claim was settled efficiently.
Outcome: Full settlement achieved, additional costs covered, and a very happy client.
